BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Over 1,000 positions were open for Taiwanese students in Beijing in an event Sunday.

More than 50 enterprises, including software companies, banks and catering enterprises from the mainland and Taiwan provided over 400 internships and around 600 jobs for Taiwanese students.

Nearly 300 fresh Taiwanese graduates majoring in finance, electronic technology, software engineering and architecture participated in the event.

"More and more Taiwanese are attracted by the promising market here and choose to come to the mainland for their future development," said Lin Yu-woei from Taiwan, a postgraduate law student at Renmin University.

The event was jointly held by Haidian Branch of Beijing Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises and Zhongguancun Talent Center, in Haidian district, Beijing.
