Mainland lauds youth internet interactions in cross-Strait development
BEIJING, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese mainland spokesperson Wednesday lauded the interactions of young people across the Taiwan Strait through the internet.
Internet social platforms enable compatriots on both sides of the Strait to have more convenient and diverse communication and exchanges, said Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, adding that such interactions can help people across the Taiwan Strait broaden the common ground in culture and history as they share the same cultural traditions.
"The emotional resonance and cultural consensus are strong internal strength driving the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations," said Zhu, calling for more Taiwan compatriots to have exchanges with their mainland counterparts.
