October 11th(Taiwan.cn)—A delegation from Fenghua District, Ningbo, successfully concluded a six-day exchange visit to Taiwan from September 25 to 30. As the first delegation from a county-level district of Ningbo to visit Taiwan in recent years, the trip marked a significant "ice-breaking" step by establishing a new framework for multi-faceted exchanges between Fenghua and Taiwan. Activities included observing international sports events, visiting cultural landmarks, and holding fellowship and discussion forums, all of which carried far-reaching implications.
During their stay, the delegation observed key events such as the "Sun Moon Lake International Ten Thousand Swimmers Carnival" and canoe sprint competitions in Nantou County. They also visited the Puli Town Swimming Training Center, where the both sides reached several cooperative intentions on youth swimming training and venue operation, laying the foundation for future regularized exchanges.
Building on these sports exchanges, the delegation further broadened the scope of interaction into multiple areas. Members visited landmarks including Chung Tai Chan Monastery, Sun Moon Lake, Temples of Earthly Mother, and Zinan Temple, gaining first-hand insight into the preservation and development of traditional Chinese culture in Taiwan.
Additionally, the delegation met with the Nantou County Council. Both sides held in-depth discussions on sports and cultural collaboration, integrated cultural and tourism development, and mechanisms for youth exchanges. They agreed to use sports as a bond to broaden cooperation and enhance mutual trust at the grassroots level.

Next, Fenghua District plans to use this "ice-breaking" visit as a starting point to continuously build a multifaceted cooperation mechanism with counterparts in Taiwan. Plans include jointly hosting a "Cross-Strait Youth Sports Summer Camp" next year and expanding interactions to areas such as cultural exhibitions and rural governance. Furthermore, various sectors from Taiwan will be invited to participate in signature events held in Fenghua, such as the "Maitreya Cultural Festival" and the "Cross-Strait Peach Blossom Marathon". These efforts aim to foster a new model of exchange——using sports to promote culture, encouraging multi-party involvement, and deepening integration.(Jointly reported by Taiwan.cn and the Taiwan Affairs Office of Fenghua District, Ningbo)
