BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition of painting and calligraphy by artists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait has opened in Beijing to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution.
Over 300 works are on display at the exhibition, which aims to carry forward the patriotic spirit and good traditions of the revolution.
About 100 guests and representatives from artistic circles of the Chinese mainland and Taiwan attended the opening ceremony.
"Given the current complex and grim situation across the Strait, people from both sides should join hands and pass on the fine traditional Chinese culture and create a bright future for the Chinese nation together," said Gao Feng, head of the Beijing Taiwan Compatriots Association, which is one of the co-hosts of the exhibition.
