TAIPEI, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan has recorded 8,822 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and two new deaths from the disease, the island's disease monitoring agency announced Wednesday.

Another 101 imported cases were newly reported in the region, it added.
