May 21 (Taiwan.cn) — From April to May, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Zhongshan, adhering to the work philosophy of "swift response, coordinated collaboration and wholehearted dedication", took the lead in mobilizing multi?party forces including Gangkou Town, Zhongshan Public Security Bureau, Taiwan Affairs Office of Zhongshan, and Zhongshan Daily. It successfully assisted Ye Zi, a Taiwan youth from Tainan, in locating her relatives in Zhongshan, fulfilling her long?cherished wish of tracing her ancestral roots. On April 17, Xiangshan Minor History, a local Zhongshan history platform, released a special family?search notice. Ye Zi (her online alias), a young woman from Tainan, was eager to find relatives of her grandfather Ye Shuhua in Gangkou Town, Zhongshan, to realize her years?long dream of seeking her ancestral origins. Upon learning of her request, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Zhongshan attached great importance to the matter and quickly set up a special working group. It established regular communication with Ye Zi without delay and updated her on the progress of the search, allowing the Taiwan compatriot to truly feel the warmth and care from her hometown.

On May 6, with assistance from the Taiwan Affairs Office of Zhongshan, Ye Zi got in touch with her paternal granduncle Mr. Ye via WeChat, marking a heartwarming cross?Strait virtual reunion. The two chatted cordially on the platform, recalling Mr. Ye Shuhua’s visit to the Chinese mainland for family reunion in 1990, and sharing years?long longing for each other.
