May 22 (Taiwan.cn)— From May 17 to 19, with coordination by the Guizhou Provincial Association of the Whampoa Military Academy Alumni, the public welfare medical campaign “Cross-Strait United for Bright Sight” was successfully held in Hezhang, Bijie City, Guizhou Province. Ten medical experts joined hands to bring high-quality ophthalmic medical resources to local residents, offering cataract patients new hope of regaining their eyesight.
At the campaign launch ceremony, the experts provided targeted treatment for 50 cataract patients in Hezhang, helping those suffering from eye diseases relieve pain and restore clear vision. The initiative effectively addressed the practical difficulties and high costs of medical care faced by disadvantaged local residents. Through their superb medical skills and selfless dedication, the experts demonstrated social responsibility and positive energy, earning wide acclaim from local people for their professionalism and devotion. The “Cross-Strait United for Bright Sight” campaign is not only a sight-restoring medical assistance program but also a heartwarming exchange that strengthens bonds between compatriots across the Taiwan Strait. Going forward, Hezhang will keep track of the progress of this charitable relief program, fully follow up on patients’ postoperative check-ups and rehabilitation guidance, and coordinate resources to ensure the standardized and orderly implementation of the project. It will further embody the original aspiration and mission of the united front work to serve the people, enabling more disadvantaged residents to feel the warmth and care of the broader society.(Jointly reported by Taiwan.cn and the Taiwan Affairs Office of Hezhang, Bijie City)
