June 26(Taiwan.cn)—The "2026 Ink & Brush New Voices — Hubei-Taiwan Cross-Campus Youth Painting and Calligraphy Joint Exhibition and Academic Exchange Event" took place at the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts on June 23.

Centered on the theme "Ink & Brush New Voices," the event integrated a diverse array of activities, including artwork exhibitions, thematic lectures, creative workshops, and in-depth cultural field visits. It showcased representative works by young creators from both sides of the Taiwan Strait in the fields of Chinese painting and calligraphy, vividly capturing the contemporary and innovative explorations of emerging artists while honoring their deep roots in traditional Chinese cultural heritage.

The initiative aims to build a cross-Strait platform for art education cooperation, cultivate young artistic talent with a solid grounding in Chinese culture and outstanding innovative capabilities, and serve as a key exchange hub where young art practitioners from across the Strait can display their creations, exchange skills, and strengthen cultural identity.

During the event, teachers and students from Hubei and Taiwan engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as "The Contemporary Transformation of Traditional Brush-and-Ink Art" and "The Contemporaneity of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy." A series of cultural activities were also held concurrently, including painting and calligraphy workshops and exchange forums.

This event has further deepened practical exchanges and cooperation between art institutions in Hubei and Taiwan, broadened the creative horizons of young cross-Strait artists, and reinforced the cultural resonance and emotional bonds between compatriots on both sides. It has served as a positive example in advancing the integrated development of cross-Strait art and culture, as well as in jointly preserving and promoting China's fine traditional culture.(Reported by Yang Kai,Correspondent of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Hubei)
