Yuwangtai District Launches Thematic Campus Outreach on Taiwan-Related Education

July 23(Taiwan.cn)—Recently, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Yuwangtai District, Kaifeng City, joined hands with the District Education and Sports Bureau to carry out a themed education campaign on Taiwan-related affairs in seven primary and secondary schools within its jurisdiction. Leveraging painting and calligraphy as a medium, the campaign instills a sense of national duty and the bond of kinship into young students.

Centering on three core components — dissemination of knowledge about Taiwan, warm messages across the Taiwan Strait, and best wishes for shared ancestral ties — the campaign moves beyond traditional lecture-style instruction. It adopts artistic creation popular among young people and features distinctive activities including themed handwritten newspaper contests, painting and calligraphy exhibitions, as well as blackboard newspaper competitions. These efforts bring education on Taiwan-related affairs beyond classroom teaching and integrate it into campus life, covering a wide range of primary and secondary school students in the district.

Students’ works feature a fresh, simple style and distinct themes. They demonstrate the youngsters’ robust knowledge reserves and artistic attainments, while sincerely conveying the profound message that compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one family and share inseparable blood ties. Every word and every stroke embodies the young students’ heartfelt wishes for the motherland.

By integrating education on Taiwan-related affairs closely with campus aesthetic education and ideological and moral education, the campaign nurtures students through art and emotional resonance. It subtly broadens teenagers’ understanding of Taiwan-related issues, helps them fully recognize the significance of the shared blood bond across the Taiwan Strait, and further strengthens their sense of national pride and responsibility to the motherland.
