July 29(Taiwan.cn)—Recently, the 2026 Taiwan Youth Huzhou Tour themed “Two Mountains Cycling Trail” was successfully held in Huzhou. Under the banner of “Discover a Beautiful China in Huzhou”, nearly 100 young people from across the Taiwan Strait set off from Moon Square and cycled side by side along Taihu Lake Highway No. 9. Amid picturesque lakes and mountains, they experienced firsthand the vibrant progress of ecological civilization development and urban-rural integration in Huzhou.
At the starting signal, young cyclists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait set off in order. The cycling convoy wound its way along the scenic embankment of Taihu Lake. Gentle breezes rippled across layered lake waters, blending with the youthful figures along the shore to paint a dynamic picture of cycling around the lake.
A student from Taiwan shared excitedly: “Huzhou is my favorite stop on this trip. Cycling around Taihu Lake offers stunning scenery. The route is moderately challenging, making the ride really enjoyable.” A Taiwan parent, visiting Huzhou with their child for the first time, remarked: “We were immediately captivated by Huzhou’s scenery upon arrival. Cycling allowed us to get to know the city, and exchanges between young people from both sides have created unforgettable memories for the children.”
This marks the third time the Nantaihu District has hosted this signature event. During the activity, the cross-Strait youth cycling group visited Baique Adult Culture and Technology School, where they took part in distinctive workshops including Song-dynasty whisked tea art, traditional pastry-making of translucent flower glutinous cakes, and drone operation. They immersed themselves in the charm of intangible cultural heritage as well as modern science and innovation. In addition, participants toured Huzhou’s historic cultural blocks such as Yishang Street and Xiaoxi Street.
