8th "Guangming Cup" Cross-Strait Slow-Pitch Softball Friendship Invitational Kicks Off

Aug 14(Taiwan.cn)—Under the theme "One Ball, One Heart Across the Strait," the 8th "Guangming Cup" Cross-Strait Slow-Pitch Softball Friendship Invitational Tournament was held from August 8 to 9 at the softball fields of Guangming Science Park and the High School Affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Guangming District, Shenzhen.

A total of 10 teams with around 180 players from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong gathered in Guangming. United by softball, they took part in this vibrant cross-Strait event that fosters shared aspirations.

The competition venue buzzed with excitement and youthful energy. Amid flying red clay, players from both sides of Taiwan Strait swung bats, made diving catches, and sprinted at full speed, drawing cheers from spectators with every brilliant play. On the pitcher's mound, pitchers kept opponents in check with precise pitching. In the batter's box, batters swung hard, sending balls soaring toward the outfield. Base runners raced swiftly between bases in fierce competition. The stadium brimmed with dynamism and passion.

The "Guangming Cup" Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament is committed to promoting exchanges and integration between compatriots across the Taiwan Strait. Using softball as a signature platform, it deepens interactions among young people from both sides and facilitates cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
