Publicizing Cross-Strait Policies, Deepening Cross-Strait Bonds

　　Aug 20(Taiwan.cn)—Recently, to further publicize cross-Strait laws, regulations, principles and policies, and build broad consensus for cross-Strait integrated development, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Longting District, Kaifeng City launched a community-based cross-Strait publicity and education campaign in Wuchaomen Community. The initiative aims to embed the concept that “people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait as one family.” into residents’ daily lives and root it deeply in public’s hearts.

　　At the event, staff members from the Taiwan Affairs Office of Longting District cited Henan Province’s Implementation Opinions on Promoting Cross-Strait Economic and Cultural Exchanges and Cooperation. Focusing on pressing concerns of Taiwan compatriots and their family members residing in the district, they explained central, provincial and municipal Taiwan-related policies and the current cross-Strait situation in plain and accessible language. They delivered detailed briefings on preferential measures covering employment, entrepreneurship, social welfare, and children’s schooling that benefit Taiwan compatriots and their relatives. Meanwhile, residents were informed about how to guard against fraud in cross-Strait affairs. This helped the public fill gaps in their understanding of relevant policies.

　　Going forward, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Longting District, Kaifeng City will keep innovating outreach approaches and diversifying communication channels. It will effectively address the real needs of local Taiwan compatriots and their family members, further consolidate the grassroots foundation for cross-Strait integrated development, keep highlighting the central theme of “we on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are one family,” and mobilize broader grassroots support for advancing the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations.
