Tanghe County Hosts Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience for Taiwan Compatriots and Relatives

　　Aug 25(Taiwan.cn)—To promote China’s fine traditional culture, enrich the cultural lives of local Taiwan compatriots and their relatives, deepen cross-Strait cultural integration, and foster shared identity, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Tanghe County, Nanyang City, hosted a hands-on experience event featuring Song-style brocade round fans on August 19. Using intangible cultural heritage as an emotional bond, the event helped further bridge the psychological distance between compatriots across the Strait.

　　At the venue, staff provided a detailed introduction to the cultural significance of Song brocade and the auspicious meanings associated with round fans. With pre-prepared materials-including brocade fabric, fan ribs, and tassels-they demonstrated the entire production process step by step. Participants received hands-on guidance on fabric bonding, accessory assembly, and fan-surface finishing, while their questions during the process were answered in detail.

　　The Taiwan compatriots and their relatives focused intently on their creations and exchanged ideas with one another. By carefully cutting fabric, applying adhesives, and decorating with tassels, each participant completed their own unique intangible-heritage round fan.
