Taiwan Affairs Office of Xingyang Organizes Compatriots and Families of Taiwan Origin to Experience Intangible Cultural Heritage

  Sep 4(Taiwan.cn)—On August 27, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Xingyang organized representatives of Taiwan compatriots and their family members residing locally to take part in an immersive observation?and?experience activity featuring intangible cultural heritage.
  During the event, participants visited distinctive cultural sites including the Chang?style Boxing Training Institute, the Yellow River Chengni Inkstone Art Museum, and the Hou?dian Village Hollow?out Cultural and Creative Park to learn about the preservation and inheritance of local intangible cultural heritage resources. With on?site briefings, craft demonstrations and interactive hands?on sessions, Taiwan compatriots and their families gained detailed insights into the historical evolution, inheritance lineage, technical features and inheritance system of each intangible cultural heritage item.
  Rooted in Xingyang’s local intangible cultural heritage resources, the activity allowed Taiwan compatriots and their families to get close?up exposure to the profound heritage and humanistic spirit of traditional martial arts, craftsmanship and folk arts. It further deepened their understanding of the historical bonds that bind people across the Taiwan Strait as one origin with shared culture and ethnicity.
