China Coast Guard conducts routine patrols east of Taiwan Island

The China Coast Guard conducted routine law enforcement patrols in waters east of Taiwan Island on Tuesday, according to the coast guard.

Jiang Lue, spokesman for the China Coast Guard, said the CCG task group led by CCGS Zhujiajian carried out the patrols in accordance with the law on Tuesday.

Since the beginning of September, the task group has continued to strengthen control over the relevant waters, helping maintain normal navigation and operational order, and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests, as well as the lives and property, of Chinese people, including Taiwan compatriots, Jiang said.

The China Coast Guard will continue to strengthen law enforcement patrols in waters under China's jurisdiction and resolutely safeguard China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, he added.
