BEIJING -- China and the United NationsIndustrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on Tuesday agreed to better cooperate on industrial development.
The pledge came out of a meeting between Chinese Premier Li Keqiangand UNIDO Director General Li Yong.
Li said China is promoting a new model of industrialization featuring innovation and green development, as well as international production capacity cooperation such as infrastructure construction. This caters for the demand of China's economic development and is an important way to expand South-South cooperation and South-North cooperation.
He noted that China will continue to support UNIDO and the director general. China is ready to work with UNIDO to help other developing countries speed up industrialization process, promote an inclusive and sustainable industrial development and realize reciprocity.
Li Yong thanked for China's assistance to UNIDO and spoke highly of China's further reform and new industrialization. He said UNIDO will continue to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation with China to contribute to global development.
