BEIJING -- A Chinese mainland delegation from the southwestern province of Yunnan will kick off a seven-day visit to Taiwan on Sept. 17, spokesman for the mainland's Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council Yang Yi announced on Friday.
The delegation, led by Qin Guangrong, secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, will carry out a series of activities in Taoyuan, Kaohsiung and Pingtung, including get-togethers to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, arts festivals and activities co-presented by mainlanders and Taiwanese.
The delegation will also visit rural households in central and southern Taiwan, host exhibitions on Yunnan agricultural products and communicate on culture, education, technology, agriculture and tourism.
"The visit aims to further boost Yunnan-Taiwan cooperation," Yang said.
