BEIJING -- The fifth regular meeting of the Cross-Strait Economic Cooperation Committee (ECC) will be convened on Dec. 10 in Taipei of Taiwan, the Chinese mainland's Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait (ARATS) announced on Friday.
Zheng Lizhong, convener of the ECC on the mainland and the ARATS' executive vice president, and Gao Yan, ECC chief representative and vice commerce minister, will head the mainland delegation to attend the meeting, the ARATS said in a press release.
The decision was made according to a provision in the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), a wide-ranging cross-Strait economic pact signed in 2010.
At the meeting, ECC members from the mainland and Taiwan will review and assess the implementation of the ECFA, make future work plans, and exchange views on latest cross-Strait economic and trade policies as well as hot topics of common concern, according to the press release.
The last regular meeting was held last year on Dec. 11 in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province.
