Students from 14 schools in Taiwan are taking part in a five-day exchange with the mainland's Guizhou province, April 4 - 8, according to the Guizhou tourism bureau, which explains that the event was organized by the Taipei Office of the Association for Tourism Exchange.
The idea is to increase exchanges between the young people of the two places and as many as 68 students are taking part in this year's program, which covers tourism, customs and food, with the students and teachers both speaking highly of Guizhou's pleasant climate, nature, colorful culture, and custom. They were able to visit the Jiaxiu pavilion in Guizhou's capital, Guiyang, some Miao ethnic group villages, and the Huangguoshu Waterfall in the city of Anshun.
Taiwan accounts for a great number of Guizhou's tourists, while it in turn is one of the most popular destinations for Guizhou's tourists. The first group of Taiwan tourists came in the early 1990s and by 2014, more than 2-million Taiwanese had visited Guizhou, which has been taking part in tourism and sightseeing industry events across the Taiwan Straits, which contributes a lot to the cooperation and exchange between the two.
