WASHINGTON -- U.S. wholesale prices kept flat in July after rising for two consecutive months, the U.S. Labor Department reported Wednesday.
The Producer Price Index (PPI), which measures price changes at factory gates, remained unchanged last month on seasonally adjusted basis.
Energy prices went down 0.2 percent last month after surging 2.9 percent in June. Meanwhile, food costs remained flat last month after gaining 0.2 percent in June.
The wholesale prices rose 2.1 percent over the past 12 months ending July, said the department.
