BEIJING, July 25 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.2 degrees on the Richter scale hit Taiwan Sunday, according to a statement on the website of the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The tremor occurred at 11:52 a.m. at the juncture area of Kaohsiung County and Pingtung County, said the statement.
The epicenter was located at 22.9 north latitude and 120.6 east longitude, with a depth of about 10 km, it said.
The epicenter was about 40 kilometers from Kaohiung City and 30 kilometers from Pingtung County, it said.
No casualties had been reported.
