Taiwan exports to the mainland and Hong Kong hit a record high in 2010. Data from the island's finance department shows total export volume reached more than 110 billion US dollars.
Taiwan's trade surplus with the mainland and Hong Kong also hit a record of 77 billion US dollars. That's doubled in the past four years. Exports increased amid strong demand for the island's electrical, mechanical and communication products. And it could be another good year ahead for Taiwan as the global economy continues to recover, and the cross- Strait ECFA deal takes effect.
