HONG KONG -- Taiwan's share prices closed lower Tuesday with the weighted index down 44.4 points, or 0.54 percent, to close at 8,116.15, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
The local bourse fluctuated between 8,116.15 and 8,178.95 during the day's trading. Turnover totaled 67.42 billion new Taiwan dollars (2.25 billion U.S. dollars).
