TAIPEI, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Taiwanese rock star and entertainment show host Frankie Kao Ling-feng died on Monday evening at the age of 63.
The singer, who had leukemia, died at a hospital in New Taipei City, his personal assistant confirmed.
Kao was known for his exotic dancing and singing style, which made him popular both in Taiwan and the Chinese mainland. His hit songs included "A Fire in Winter" and "Girl's Dimples".
He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012 but had planned to stage a concert this March, believing it would help his battle against the disease.
