TAIPEI -- Taiwan's economy will grow 3.28 percent this year, 0.5 percentage points lower than the official projection made in February, the island's statistics agency said on Friday.

The agency revised down its prediction for weak incentives for growth, saying both the demand from overseas and the island itself are turning more prudent.

Nominal GDPexpanded year on year in the first quarter of this year by 3.37 percent, according to the agency.

And after seasonal adjustment, the agency put the GDP growth last year at 3.77 percent, with a per capita GDP of 22,635 U.S. dollars.

Also on Friday, the agency announced that Taiwan's unemployment dipped to 3.63 percent in April, the lowest April level in 15 years.
