TAIPEI, May 22 -- Taiwan's unemployment rate stood at 3.67 percent in April, the lowest in 23 months, the island's statistics authority said Monday.
There were 432,000 people out of work in April, down 13,000 from the previous month and 19,000 from a year earlier, the authority said, adding that the total workforce in Taiwan reached 11.76 million in April.
The highest unemployment rate was observed among those who had a junior college education or higher at 3.95 percent.
In terms of age, the unemployment rate in the 15 to 24-year-olds group was the highest at 11.62 percent, followed by people aged from 25 to 29 at 6.61 percent, it said.
