BEIJING -- Courts on the Chinese mainland will establish more special courtrooms to handle Taiwan-related lawsuits, Yang Yi, spokesman with the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office, said on Wednesday.
People's courts in provinces such as Fujian, Jiangsu and Guangdong will establish more such courtrooms in the future, Yang told a press conference.
These three provinces have more cases involving Taiwanese merchants and Taiwan-related lawsuits as they are major destinations of Taiwanese investment.
According to Yang, 18 courts in Fujian have set up special courtrooms to hear Taiwan-related lawsuits. A total of 48 grassroots courts around the country have set up collegial panels to handle Taiwan-related lawsuits.
