BEBGALURU, India, July 24 -- China defeated Chinese Tapei 102-63, snatching its second straight win at the Women's Basketball Asian Cup here on Monday.
Shen Yi helped China have a good start, making China lead 28-8 in the first quarter.
Compared with team China, Chinese Tapei lags behind in heights and strengths. At the half break, China enlarged its advantage to 33 points.
Chinese Tapei had a 15-2 run in the beginning of the third quarter, but Huang Sijing scored seven to terminate the suspense of the game.
Huang contributed 25 points and 5 rebounds for China, while Li Yueru got 19 points and 7 rebounds.
China will face the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Tuesday, before entering the knockout stage.
In the other three games on Monday, DPRK lost to New Zealand 71-50, Japan edged South Korea 70-56, Australia beat the Philippines 107-65.
