GAZA -- Five Palestinian prisoners, part of the 26 detainees Israel is releasing Tuesday, arrived at Erez crossing point between Gaza and Israel, witnesses said.
The rest inmates, who are from the West Bank, are expected to be freed later Tuesday night.
The release is the second phase of a four-stage agreement Israel reached with the Palestinians in July for the resumption of direct peace negotiations between the two sides.
