SINGAPORE -- The exhibition of "In Memoriam: Lee Kuan Yew" opened to the public at the National Museum of Singapore on Wednesday to pay tribute to Singapore's founding father who passed away at the age of 91 on Monday.
The memorial exhibition is composed of four parts - the Formative Years, Road to Merdeka (independence), Survival and Nationhood, and His Legacy, which chronicles the life and political career of the first Singaporean prime minister.
The show features a selection of photographic images and audiovisual recordings, as well as artifacts from the National Collection, highlighting the ideals and convictions that shaped Lee Kuan Yew and his generation of leaders.
According to the curator, the exhibition captures the spirit of Lee by offering quite a variety of different angles, and various perspectives of the man.
"We hope to present his legacy and how Singapore has come here, and help to take time to remember and reflect the contribution that Lee Kuan Yew made to the country." said Angelita Teo, director of the museum.
Most of the visitors also paid tribute to Lee at a special zone at the exhibition and penned their condolences words on the book arranged aside by the organizer.
Lee's casket has been transferred to the Parliament House on Wednesday, where he will lie in state till Saturday.
