YANGON -- Peace negotiators of the Myanmar government and ethnic armed groups reached a seven-chapter draft nationwide ceasefire agreement (NCA) here Monday, ending one year and four months' peace negotiation on the draft accord.

The formal NCA, ready for signing by negotiation group members of both sides on Tuesday, is set to be endorsed in Nay Pyi Taw by leaders of the government and the ethnic armed groups and then be forwarded to parliament.

The finalization of the draft NCA was made on the seventh day of the seventh round of peace talks between the government's Union Peace-Making Work Committee (UPWC) and ethnic armed groups' Nationwide Ceasefire Coordination Team (NCCT) after some remaining four points were resolved.

The UPWC side was led by its Vice Chairman U Aung Min, who is also minister at the President's Office, while the NCCT side was headed by U Naing Han Tha.

Representatives of the parliament, military officials and government ministers joined the talks, which were resumed on Monday after a week-long recess.
