BEIJING/TAIPEI -- A 5.6-magnitude earthquake jolted the sea area off Hualien County on Taiwan's east coast at 7:51 a.m. Saturday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
Taiwan earthquake monitor center of weather bureau said there were no reports of casualties or damage until now.
People in Taipei area felt the quake.
The epicenter, with a depth of 8 km, was at 24.0 degrees north latitude and 122.3 degrees east longitude, according to the CENC.
