HONG KONG -- Taiwan's share prices closed 1.58 percent higher on Wednesday with the weighted index rising 121.57 points to close at 7,784.80, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
The local bourse fluctuated between 7,742.20 and 7,816.88 during the day's trading. Turnover totaled 90.43 billion new Taiwan dollars (3.01 billion U.S. dollars) during the trading session.
