BEIJING -- Yuan Zai, the baby panda born last week, is reportedly in good condition at the Taipei Zoo after experiencing her first typhoon.
The zoo has put the female cub into an incubator and doubled the personnel looking after her. The cub was under around-the-clock care after being born last Saturday. Her parents Yuan Yuan and Tuan Tuan were presented to Taiwan by the Chinese mainland in 2008.
Although the baby cub has passed her crucial first week in good condition, the zoo says she will not open her eyes for about one month.
